St. Clere's FC Tournament 2024 Cancelled!

The St. Clere’s FC Tournament is one of the biggest Tournaments in the county drawing in teams from all over the region to compete in. It is always a highly anticipated event not only for the players and coaches, but also for the entire club as a whole, but unfortunately, we have had to cancel the 2024 tournament. 

St Clere’s School has been one of the schools in the UK have been impacted by the Raac (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) crisis and as many may have noticed that have recently been to the school site, new temporary classrooms have been constructed for the pupils. Due to this we have lost a number of pitches and the Committee have decided to not to go ahead with the Tournament this year due to health and safety issues surrounding the lack of car park space.

The decision to cancel the tournament was not an easy one. It was made after careful consideration and consultation with everyone within the club. The safety and well-being of everyone involved, including the players, staff, and spectators, were the top priority. As much as it was a disappointment to everyone, it was a necessary and responsible decision.

But all is not lost, once the 23/24 season comes to an end, we are going to take the time in the summer to carry out work on the pitches and give them the care and attention that they desperately need ready for the 24/25 season.

Once again, we apologise for any disappointment this my bring to you all but we’ll make sure the 2025 Tournament comes back with a bang!
